    Which pcm to use

I am currently swapping a 2008 aluminum 5.3 with 58 tooth reluctor into a 2011 colorado. I have both pcms. The 2008 is an e40 with no DOD. And the other is an e38 from the 5 clyinder colorado. I believe the e38 will interface with the truck better, just not sure about switching it to a v8 after reading that operating system changes may brick the ecu. The e40 ecm traction control/ abs is complety different and requires a wake up signal for communication. I believe I could work around these. I would just like some info on which way would be best before building my harness

Are you sure the 2008 computer is an E40?

Could have sworn the E40 stopped after 2006ish and everything beyond that for half ton trucks or SUV's was a E67 or E38.

An E38 has one grey and one black. E40's have 3 connectors.
