    Help with my STS-V

I would like to start with tuning the transmission. Can you help me out. I have a Spectre Air Intake that will ship in the next few weeks so I will wait until then to tune MAF tables. Here is a couple of photos of the intake on the test mule I had Spectre make. I am selling them on my website. It made an average of 44RWHP on an otherwise stock STS-V. I am going to try to attach my stock tune......

That is beautiful! But can I suggest one thing? On my custom intake to drop the IAT's down to nada, I relocated the horn, and made a smooth 90 degree turn and fed the intake down so it was in the path of the brake vent. The STS-V's get ungodly hot underneath the hood and that's what I like about the fin you put up to iscolate the breather from engine, but there is much more potential there. That's just my suggestion though. Now onto your tune, the transmission needs big help on these cars. Lowering the shift times in normal and special drive modes help with faster gear changes. Uh... Gosh Lemme see if I can make a mock up tune that will help you. It'll most likely be set up for about 6800ish rpm shifts though so be careful what you take and don't change comparatively.

This is by no means a put in and go tune, just a simple tune that has a little tweaking in different areas. It is not at all what I'd call "Safe"

    HOLY CRAP BATMAN!!

A "Little" tweaking?? Some of those changes are pretty extreme aren't they?

Yep some of them are. That was an experimental tune that was actually doing quite well. However the fueling is off around town and the MAF still needed adjustment for all the new intake plumbing. Make yourself a nice little tune go and make a running log, post it and then I can see what needs changing. The E67's are pretty smart so don't be afraid to log however many important looking PID's you want, so long as they fit in the table.

It flows +628cfm over stock too!!

Here is what I have done so far. Not too extreme I think. I am waiting on the intake to start on the motor. All I have done so far to it is change the PE to 1 and Zero out the PE MAP, MAP HYST, and Delay RPM. The changes I made are to the tranny settings and thank you for the Inertia tip.... It fixed my 3-4 sloppy shift. I am a little reluctant to change the shift RPM above 6500 until I find out the top of my power band and then set it to shift at the top of the band. What do you think so far?

As far as scanning here is what I will look for. Feel free to let me know any other parameters you think I need to look at.

I really thank you for your time!!

These motors with 4 cams quit pulling at around 6700.

Not bad. Perform the following mods to your Torque Converter.

-Change Tq reduction on the TCC section to enable at 2550 and disable at 2000.

Remember when you tune your MAF to put the car in pure MAF mode by going to engine/airflow/dynamic and put High RPM enable at 2, and High RPM disable at 1.

Your welcome. Makes me feel important

Stock stall on this car is like 2100ish, and by setting that up you won't have it pulling fuel and you can launch the car better, at a higher RPM.

Well I really appreciate you taking the time to look at it and help me along. Just the transmission tuning had made a HUGE improvement. Can't wait to get the intake and start tuning that. I am going to get a NGK AFX wideband to tune with.

Is that the Trans Stall Torque Reduction Enable RPM? And Disable RPM? Its under the Auto TCC/ Torque Management/ General settings?

Yes that's the one. If you go and load the car you'll feel it start bucking around at 1500 as it is.

Dude it's no problem. I love this stuff. Just again be careful. These motors with a good tune make horrendous power and could get you hurt. The car is also very unpredictable because of it's overall weight. (NGK AFX=good)

Oh hell no! I have just adjusted the MAF curve a little and changed the transmission settings, Adjusted my PE and Supercharger Torque Management. I love the changes. I did not go as extreme as your sample though...... The Spectre Intake should be here this week so I will tune for that on a dyno.
