    2009 5.3 ran by 2003 6.0 ecu

So I looked around and could nor find an answer.

Can a 2009 5.3 be controlled by a 2003 6.0 ecu? Im pretty sure the 5.3 has dod/afm im lost.

    Mike.

    Nope.

The 2009 engine is a 58/4x crank trigger and the 2003 computer needs a 24/1x crank trigger. Plus you have many different wiring changes and parts differences. Like the 2009 has the cam sensor in the front on the timing cover, the knock sensors are located on the side of the engine block, the engine would have AFM/DoD. A 2003 era engine wouldn't have AFM/DoD and the those various sensors would be located in different spots.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

you need to install an afm delete kit, change the front cam gear out to a 1x gear, and install a 58x to 24x signal converter. you need to convert the 2009 ecu's injector data to comply with the early computers injector format. If you keep the dbw, then you may run into hardware agreement issues that relate to the pedal/tac modules. then after solving/checking all of that stuff it may want to start up. This assumes all other critical oem sensors are wired correctly and reporting as expected.

you could take the crank out and have a machine shop swap the reluctor wheel from a 58x to a 24x unit. Then you swap the 58x crank sensor to the 24x crank sensor and you dont have to worry about the signal conversion module. There is a slight rewire to perform but not a huge deal if your familiar with electrical.

I've used a couple of the Lingenfelter TRG-002 boxes. You actually need to leave the 4X cam reluctor installed in order for the signal generator box to work correctly.

yeah i only mean to swap the sensor out if you change the reluctor itself
