Could you tune part throttle ignition timing on these platforms by monitoring torque?
I think you could.
In the torque model, the factors include airflow and spark. In order to reach a certain "torque" more throttle would be required as spark is reduced. Conversely, as spark is advanced to MBT throttle commands would be reduced.
So logging spark advance, tps, desired and commanded torque (and KR) could show you how far away you are from MBT...?
The question is will the change in spark advance tables offset the torque model and skew the commanded torque data?
