    2018 silverado w/5.3

    If i read only the pcm, license will be 4 or 2 credits ?

    4 credits.

    If the truck is an 8 speed transmission that requires 4 more credits and the unlock service for the TCM. A 6 speed truck can read the PCM and TCM for only 4 credits.

    2017-2018 Silverado's are 4 credits for the PCM.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    No real greed. 2017+ computer have more security measures than previous years and it takes more time to figure out a way around it. A internet connection is required as well to license them because of the security on them.

    Yeah. For 17+ HPTuners built a system to read the "seed" and apply the appropriate response while you wait about 30 minutes. The TCM is the harder part. We all experienced losses as GM tightened up their control over writing to their hardware. HPTuners has done what they can to keep offering us the ability to make the desired changes. HPTuners is just trying to meet our "need" even though it gets harder to meet.
