HP Tuners GenIII Tip in Torque By Gear

I have a 2001 8.1L Suburban It runs and drives fine but I am messing around with HP Tuners. Just a little homework to get better acquainted with the software. So question #1, Tip in torque by Gear Lots of information on how to render it useless online, but no one explains the units. The Hp Tuner Definition is "Tip In Torque by Gear: Electronic throttle maximum allowed instantaneous torque increase based on automatic trans current gear." OK great, the factory tables fill the values with numbers from 8 to 20 "Torques?" and most everyone recomends puting 640 in the cells. What are the original lower numbers related too? Is it a percentage of increase over time? No info on what the values relate to that I have found, just everyone sets it to 640 to bypass. I may do the same thing, but just looking for a little better explanation on the numbers that are already there.

That's torque increase (in ft-lbs) per unit time per gear.
