RAM 2500 New user tuning question

This may be a dumb question and I did some searching on this forum but cant find an answer. I'm new to HP tuners and tuning in general. I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with 68RFE, my question is can I tune the transmission on its own without flashing the current engine tune I have from another tuning company? I do not want to mess with the engine side of the tuning just the transmission. Thanks

No sir, not with the 2010-2012 model years. Flashing the ECM on these model years overwrites engine AND transmission tuning. 2007.5-2009 the ECM and TCM are separate and flashed separately.

Should be able to tell your engine tuner what you?d like done with the transmission and get him to provide an updated flash file for you.

Seems to be a good spot to ask my question being as I'm new.
For an 2008 68rfe, must I buy credits for both ECM and TCM or can I just buy for TCM?
