    10r80 cdf help

Currently im not haveing any problems with the cdf drum. But i have been reading about it and how a tune helps protect it? Does anyone know what i can do to save it from damage?

to my knowlege nothing its an inherent problem & forced induction cars will bring the on earlier, the bush moves within the drum exposing & blocking ports to the clutch packs apparently they have modified them from 2022

There is really nothing you can do tuning wise to prevent the sleeve from walking out the CDF drum, it was just a bad design. They fixed it now adding a lip to the drum so that the sleeve can't walk bout. Here are the part number for the updated drum depending on the specific application:

    JL3Z-7H351-B CDF Cylinder (5.0L Mustang, Transit, 3.0L Explorer, 2017-2020 F-150, 2018-2021 Expedition/Navigator 10R80) (Explorer/Aviator 10R80 MHT)

    JR3Z-7H351-B CDF Cylinder (Ranger/3.3L Explorer/2.3L Mustang 10R80)

    ML3Z-7H351-B CDF Cylinder (2021-2023 F-150 10R80, 2021-2023 10R80 MHT, 2022-2023 Expedition/Navigator 10R80)
