i Have a 2014 silverado 5.3 4x4 with the 6 speed. My problem is simple. The closed throttle downshift from second to first is a little to firm. i can fell the truck lunge when rolling to a stop. everything els is fine for a stock truck. my question is if i reduce the values in the CT downshift inertia factor table will this soften the shift from 2 to 1 while in drive? and will it also affect tow haul mode 2-1 shift when stoping as well?
There are separate patterns for Normal and Tow Haul, which could be called Pattern A, or B, whatever. Log it and see which one is tow haul. You could try lowering your 2-1 downshift speed at 0% throttle a bit.
i have an 8 speed but i have had luck with lowering the shift mph and also under torque manangement there is a torque reduction table for downshift decelerating. i have made changes to that as well and i am pleased. i know the 6speeed has more tables than the 8 but there should be one similar
