who here has run more than one type of DR on the same car to directly compare the traction of each. i personally have only ran MT's and it was on an auto car with just bolts on at the time, buddy of mine ran nitto's on a 6speed car and spun them hard but was probably lauchin it from an ungodly rpm. can anyone compare DR and or DOT tires from personal exsperiance on the same settup. thanks

oppinion anyone?i think the MT's are great but heavier than some would deffinatly go with the lightest one out there if it would do the job .

I know people that have run several DR's, other than the BFG's, nothing else compairs. It is worth the extra weight to have traction, I can actually use 1st and 2nd now lol

thanks dragman, only had a chance to go to the track one time this year on midtour leave since im stuck in the sandbox for my second time, if i can get my short times and 1/8th mile in line with yours then i should be low 11's. get rid of some not needed weight and say hello to the 10's baby.

hey ws6 have u got a chance to hit the dyno with your new set up and or the track. let us know how that thing is does. with those numbers should be good.

Well, went to the track, didnt turn out too well haha. Car had a really hard time going into gear. That LS7 clutch doesnt like the heat, thats for sure. This was my first time I have ever had issues with shifting at the track. Anyway, I ran a [email protected] mph with a 1.799 60' (bouncing off the limiter at 6900 in 3rd right before the first box to measure speed). My log shows 94 mph right before I hit the limiter then it went down to 92 then 91. No telling how accurate the speedo is though. I did have a best 60' of 1.691 but 2nd and 3rd gear didnt like me lol so I only managed a [email protected].

Little disappointed at the outcome, I was really hoping to get some 7.30's out of the car at least with a 95 mph trap. If I didnt mess up the shifts, the car could have went 7.60's I think. Hopefully there is more left in actually being able to get through the gears and traping the 1/8 in 3rd without hitting the limiter.

I was quite impressed with how the new tires worked out. After learning how much to smoke them to get good heat, I was able to leave the line at about 4500 without spinning. Now that was fun lol. Now I just need to get rid of this clutch (saves some weight too) and put some good runs together. Hopefully I can get something a little better for what I have, that was kind of weak. I will try and get some vids mid week.

If you're looking for clutches, check out RPS's Billet Carbon. My business partner is running one of their new Billet Carbon-Carbon triples. He's getting ready for a 900+ HP TT on 346cid thus the clutch. He says the pedal pressure is like stock and the inertia is lower than a stock clutch so it shifts super fast.

BTW: The LS7 clutch isn't that big of a step up from a stock LS1/LS6 but the price is right!

yeah I got the LS7 because I HAD to get something fast and didnt want to spend a ton of money. I know it is heavier than stock. I definately noticed a loss in pickup when I went to that clutch. I will check out that cluch, if it will hold 900 hp, I will have no problem haha. Other clutch I was looking at was Textrilla. Anyone have any opinions on that one?

lol yea hate a bad clutch, mine was new when i bought the car but but had no idea what kind since it was put in while the guy was in germany, but the stock hydraulics were not up to the job and the pilot bearing was causing a vibration so it was all ditched. new master, slave and clutch

The main complaint about the LS7 is the low catch point, and I tell ya, by the end of the track its fully engauged just a hair off the floor, not good lol

sounds like an adjustable master would be the fix to that. when i got my new settup in i drove it to a differant spot to put the master in and couldnt get the thing to go in reverse without turnin the car off, new master and alittle adj took care of that
