Tuning an manual versus an auto

For those of you more experienced in tuning multiple trucks. Do you have different strategies for tuning a manual versus auto truck, all things being the same between the trucks except transmissions? Any thoughts would be great.

Same same, just like changing tire sizes or gear ratios, only thing that really changes is the rpm ranges per gear. Like at cruise speed of 70mph, instead of 1800rpms it might be 2000 rpms or whatever. The approach to tuning is no different from manual to auto and vice versa.

I have heard if you are doing an auto to manual conversion you need to change the OS. Are there big differences between an auto and manual OS? Where would one find an OS for a manual truck if the current ECM was setup for an Auto?

Can see if support will give you a manual OS with your VIN in it. And yes there are differences. There are other ways to get it done as well.
