Exclamation MVPI2 compatible with USB 2.0?

Just got my MVPI2 and it came with a USB 3.1 cable. The laptop I had planned on using to upload my tunes only has USB 2.0.

Is it compatible with USB 2.0?
Does it need the speed of USB 3.0 to be able to flash the PCM without error?

There is a difference between the connector type (USB A, B, C, etc) and the USB Communication (USB 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, etc). The MPVI2 has USB Type C connector and is USB 2.0 compliant. Meaning it will work with just about anything. Mine came with a USB A to USB C cable in the box, but maybe packing has changed.

It's a USB A connector on one end, but it's the blue 9 pin USB 3.0 port. Looks just like a regular 4 pin USB 1/2 connector aside from being blue until you peak inside and see the 5 little pins way in the base of the connector.

The reason I ask is the huge speed difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Just don't want to brick my PCM because the connection is too slow. I know it will plug in and try to work, but will it work?

So you've used it in a non-USB3 port (not blue) and did not have issues?

Will work fine with 2.0!!!!!!3.0, or even 2.0 transfers data faster than the ecm chip writing capabilities. You got nothing to worry about
i write on a regular basis using both 2.0 or 3.0 (3.0 is on one side of laptop, 2.0 is on other) based on how i have laptop positioned in car

Thanks, that's more the kind of answer I was looking for.
Judging by the size of the tune file and how long it took to download it, seems speeds are similar to the old days when they used serial devices.

Flashing speed really isn't dependent upon the usb cable, its more dependent upon the ecm.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
