    Neon Srt4 Boost control

    Hello all,

I would like some help figuring this problem here out. I borrowed a base map from a friend for a big turbo setup that runs 19-20lbs of boost. The wastegate duty cycle was set after a certain rpm to a specific number that slowly raised with rpm. All other areas were set to zero so I'm guessing this was supposed to be like a manual boost controller. Well I didn't like that, so I went back to stock with the duty cycle table. Set my over boost tables up out of the way and set the turbo desired torque to stock except for the bottom line which I set at 323. Also boost by gear was set to 0 for 1-2 and 3-5 I set at 323. now it over boosts like crazy. Using the diablo data logger I can see my req tq being limited to 323 like I would expect but the tq desired goes up to 385. Rises in proportion to the map to use pid. Also, I can see the wg duty cycle moving around but it doesn't make sense. As far as I can tell, it doesn't track the duty cycle table at all. I did try setting the duty cycle table to all 25% and it still over boosted just slower. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanx

    Update

So, after making this post, I made some more changes. I went to a completely stock Turbo Desired Torque (tdt) table from a stage 0 or standard srt4. Then for the WD DC (RPM) table I used the settings from a stg 3 file from the repository. I then set my boost by gear table to all 0’s. Literally for the first time I got wastegate pressure with zero wg duty cycle movement. After that I moved up the tq limit in 3rd in 50 lb. increments all the way to 250. This resulted in wg duty cycle until wastegate pressure was achieved then it fell back to zero. Highest duty cycle was 56%.

    So, question 1.

Was it that my WG C table now had enough airflow in the row axis that allowed this to happen?

    Question 2

Did I accidently reset something to unknowingly fix an error from the first set up?

    Question 3

Does the WG DC or the TDT table modify the tq model somehow?

    i used s3 setting too.
    my gas tune
gear based torque limit: 1-220, 2-330, 3/4/5-355 (about 21 psi) stock trans.. if it was a liberty i'd use 960's across the board..

if anything i would take out some duty cycle under 4500 with a big turbo to prevent a boost spike (bent rod)

    Thank you for the reply.

So far since making the changes to my tune laid out in my second post, I have only seen about 12 psi which I believe is around wastegate pressure. Only difference has been increased wastegate duty cycle fluctuation. It sure would be nice for Hp Tuners to fill in the pid gaps so I could build histograms and verify what I think I'm seeing.

What I am wanting to know is which of these tables is responsible for the tq model. It almost looked like the WG DC table influenced it. Also, the turbo desired torque table may have as well.

What I'm going to try next is moving up the tq limit for 3rd to match the tdt upper request of 287 ft/lbs. Hopefully this will put me into boost above wastegate spring.

What is your tdt table set to?

    stock..
    last row 2.8 349.987991075048 349.987991075048 350.932070626123 349.987991075048 367.246945368136 380.670576484982 385.449979212299 385.449979212299 381.614656036057 383.532317624178 387.36764080042 388.341222837466 373.944009683574 374.91759172062 374.91759172062 372.999930132499 345.17908586176

is should update it to match my motor.. just dyno'd @500 yippee, because comparing repository data stock vs stage 3.. the tdt table corresponds to actual tq
