Got a Metra GMOS installed read this first

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

When having one of these devices OR SIMILAR OR ANY AFTERMARKET WIRING DEVICE installed our customers have found writing can be interrupted when your vehicle is equipped with one of these devices due to it talking on the bus when it shouldn't be.

Under normal circumstances you'll find this out via write calibration only which won't harm the ecm

However if you are doing a write entire the first time you are writing to a vehicle you could potentially hurt the ecm.

Make sure to remove this device or flashing your ecm/tcm modules via bench harness.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Actually this caution should apply to any aftermarket device on the bus and not just one specific model. Even the known-bad ones don't cause any issues at all, until they do.

I agree, hence the reason we state our software is intended to be used in off the show room floor type vehicles. Just be cautious about what you've done to your vehicle and know if you mess with the wiring it can cause read/flash issues.

Someone wanted this made a sticky so I made it a sticky.
