Mustang GT Whipple + Big Cams
Hi guys,
I just installed big cams on my supercharger mustang GT 17.
I have made a few logs and notice that VCT schedule mode now it's getting into Best Fuel Economy all the time all the way to redline.
I have seen a few tunes where decrease Enable Pedal Position and Enable % Load on VCT Optimum Power section, then max out Enable Min Load on Best Drivability.
My Intake Valve Opening Angle and Exhaust Valve Closing Angle on Optimum Power for stock cal and whipple cal are:
Intake Stock Whipple
1000 0 5
1750 0 5
2250 -7 3
2750 -9 1
3000 -10 0
3500 -20 -10
4000 -20 -10
5000 0 0
5500 10 10
6000 12 12
6500 15 15
Exhaust Stock Whipple
1000 8 8
1750 8 8
2250 8 8
2750 12 12
3000 21 16
3500 16 16
4000 16 16
5000 12 12
5500 12 12
6000 14 14
6500 14 14
So, looking at this comparison it seems that Whipple retarded the point Intake Valves open and only close before Exhaust Valves for 3000 rpm.
I wanted to know what are your experiences and tips for tuning these?
Thanks you in advance.

what is your pedal and load requirements to enter OP?

They were at 89% pedal and .75-0.85 as Whipple calibration. Now, I decreased a lot and got much better feeling.
I tried to advance and retard both intake and exhaust by + - 2 and no any more power

2 degrees won’t do anything. It’s noise. I think most guys do 5 and 10 degree sweeps.

I went +-4 in total, and no gain!
