2010 Camaro with Ls7 Tune can I use 2015 settings?

    Hi,

Ive got an LS7 that I am going to be running behind a 2010 E38 Camaro OS. I see that in 2015 the Camaro was available with a ls7. I'd love to simply "copy" over the oem tune into my pcm. In the past Ive not had alot of luck with doing this between OS's. However, I've been told there weren't many changes to the OS between 2010 and 2015, does anyone know if I used the compare feature and sat and copied the entire 2015 ls7 oem tune into my car if it would run the same or do the settings differ enough where thats not a good idea and I'm doomed to sadness?

I've attached the two files in question. I've got the LS3 computer running the LS7, but it doesnt feel nearly as sorted as an OEM tune. I'd LOVE to just start with an OEM tune as my basemap instead, hence this idea

Would it be better to copy from a 2010 corvette w/ LS7?

It might be worth a shot with a 2010 Z06 file. You might just better off just going through the normal motions of e38 tuning with the Camaro calibration though. If you're using the ls7 injectors that would be the only thing to copy over. Too much stuff going on in the background we can't see or change.

Would need to know the details of the LS7 to be 100% sure, but copy from a similar platform is always better. There are many possible changes the one that is 100% required is displacement. After that injectors? TB? Fuel system?

You have not provided a list of what is changing and what is staying from the 2010 Camaro.

I can provide more details I agree with you, GM spent WAY more time getting all the details right and I'm not likely to get them as perfect no matter how much time I spend. Its much better to start where GM left off. In my case since its a nearly stock ls7... even more so.

100% stock LS7, stock ls7 injectors, stock ls7 intake manifold, stock ls7 Throttle body, stock fuel rail and fuel system. Literally total oem crate engine from a 2007 z06 and all sensors from the z06 as well. (ie: I have the oem ls7 map sensor) Any help to get me moved over and effectively started where GM left off would be a massive help.

    Thanks!

Is the fuel pump, lines, FPCM all from the Camaro?

Airbox and duct from the Camaro?

So baring some unknowns i would start with this and see how it works. There are some things in your file that do not fit with a stock 2010 Camaro so I do not know where you got them. I left them.

Thanks I'll give it a try tonight after work! The unknowns were probably me messing with trying to copy previously which failed rather miserably tbh.

Seems to be working pretty good. Thanks!

It kind of has an idle hang. On older OS's I used to mess with throttle follower. Is that what to mess with on this newer OS? If so which one exactly?

Fuel pump is Walbro 450LPH, lines are stock, no FPCM, LS7 MAF Sensor inside of a 4" pipe with big K&N on the end

Is this a return fuel system? There are still many things that are not from a 2007 Z06 or Camaro. One is the injector data. That should be updated, MAF is really not correct for either and some other items. Should fix those, correctly tune MAF, fix VVE, fix VVT and then worry about idle hang. It is most likely the result of all of the other things not being correct.
