Depends on the vehicle. Some require the internet connection when you read and license the file the first time.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

How do you know which vehicles require an internet connection to flash a new tune? I have a 1998 z28.

MPVI2 requires internet to sync your credits to your interface, you will not be able to license any vehicle until you have internet in order to sync your credits to your interface.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

On my MPVI2, I usually purchase credits before hand at home, and then make sure to "resync interface" with internet. It will load the credits onto the device.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only vehicles (GM wise) that require internet to pull the tune file is later into the Gen V platform. Maybe 2017/18+

I've been tuning with HPT for years now, but all of these new changes are about to wear me out. I am VERY often not around internet when I am tuning, and this is a huge pain in the ass. This new version of hardware/ software was not built with the user in mind.

2017 GMC Sierra SLT: 6.2/ 8spd. Just getting started on it...

Hey Bill, I bought two credits and used the Internet to sync the credits to the MPVI2 but when I try to flash a tune when hooked up to the vehicle the VCM Editor tells me I don't have a license for the file or the vehicle. Do I need to be connected to the Internet to flash a tune ? I didn't when I pulled the tune off the car. What am I missing here ? Thanks !
