    WBO2 Sensor location

I've been reading a few things about sensor installation location and am stuck in a debate in my head about installing the WBO2 before the cat or after.
It would be really hard install before the cat in my 06 GMC sierra. Not a lot of room close to the engine.
My technical side says before the cat is the right way to do it, then my laid back side says just put it in the pipe somewhere downstream of the y pipe, correct it up to what the front narrow bands read and let it ride.
Am I over thinking this crap? Its just a stock engine (that I might 5.3 swap and cam later down the road) and I am learning the software for future LS swap projects I may do down the road. But I don't want to start a bad habit either.
Would appreciate some of yalls thoughts that have more experience.

    Thanks,
    Richard
