Timing falls off the cliff in 7th - 2019 Mustang GT-A10

    Folks,

2019 A10. Vortech, E85 Return Fuel System, Catless LT's, Stock Converter and Trans. At the track yesterday trying to get her dialed in.

Attached log/tune the car ran a 9.96 but as you will see in the log, once the car shifts in to 7th the timing goes from 20* down to 0. There is no KR. I thought is was due to the Driver Demand Torque Table but apparently, not. Traction Control and Advance Track were switched off via the switch in the car.

Would someone mind having a look see? I'm baffled.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

    is that a vortech OS/tune?
your lean the whole run on fuel trims like paul pointed out.

i must be missing something but how can ETC be half of what is built into the DD table?? the tq ratio is sub .60 the whole run and finally hits 1.0 once timing is yanked.

OP you might consider cleaning up the channel log, several duplicates and it helps for the visual to group similar items, fuel/timing/tq etc. also it has been said that the SAE channels are slower than non SAE channels. try swapping the SAE to non SAE.

I agree you need to clean up your config file and please add any pids that have "limit" in them

Thanks for the insight guys! This is a custom tune. I will review/test and report back! My next track days are Sept 11th, 12th and 13th so, we will see how she responds.

I've been messing with the PID layout a bit. Haven't actually used it yet but what do y'all think?

Where is your IAT sensor located and which PID is it reading to "iat"?

IAT is on the boost side of the intercooler. Uses the PID I have in the channel config.

Did you end up finding the issue? I'm seeing something very similar on a procharged gen 3 F150. Timing falls on it's face in 5th gear and ramps up very similarly to whats going on in your log.

Nope. What we do see is the Desired Load is 1.3 but the Actual Air Load is 1.6-1.8 so, Torque Management is trying to match Desired Load. It's a beast.

Did you run another log with that test file?

We have been over several revisions and are getting close. Based on the load characteristics , injector size (ID1300's) and other parameters, We've come to the conclusion that Torque Management on these cars is a nightmare. LOL. Appreciate everyone's input. Hoping to get this sorted out before the end of the season.

If it is Torque management that's doing it, it will show up as that with one of the "source" "Limit" or "TR" pids.

Looks like a request from the trans. What source though, not clear. Make sure to monitor any torque requests coming from the trans.

Yea. We are going through the tables. We have the 6-7 issue pretty much licked but now running in to it with the 2-3, 3-4 shift. All called from Torque Control on the Timing and Throttle Source. Making progress though!

Are you pulling the fuse or plug for the traction control.
