06 GTO E40 evap purge solenoid

When the LSA blower was installed on my 06 GTO, all the evap purge lines under the hood were just disconnected and put in a box, solenoid as well.
I just installed the 2013 CTSV Purge solenoid in its rightful place and used the end fittings and evap hose to re-connect the system... tired of smelling fuel for 2 days after I fill the tank due to the metal line on the firewall being open. All the evap DTC's were disabled and MIL disabled for those as well. Will the evap purge solenoid still operate with the DTC's disabled, or do they need to be enabled for the evap solenoid to function?
    Thanks

It will work if the plug is wired correctly for the 2013 solenoid. Is that the same as the 06GTO ? You will never see a mil light if something is wrong but that probably won't bother you.

The standard 06 purge solenoid is the inline one in the hardlines, the 2013 CTSV is the one that bolts onto the snout. Connector is the same and resistance measured the same.
Hooked it up last night and was watching my wideband while I used the VCM scanner to open and close it with different PWM %... Definitely sucking fumes, O2 went from 0.99 lambda to 0,88 and STFT's went to -20% for the first couple seconds I had it open at 80%...

Yeah, MIL not coming on isn't an issue...

Have it in and running, verified no leaks etc. Now, cruising along, my STFT's will suddenly go to -20+% for a couple minutes then come back to normal. Wideband goes rich during those intervals. Accelerating at approx 50%-60% throttle, I'm getting 7-8 degrees of Knock retard, I can here a brief knock, and feel the surge as the timing is retarded. At the same time, again STFT pulls 20% or so fuel.
Disconnected evap purge solenoid and vented tank purge line to air as it was before I decided to install it to get rid of the constant fuel smell and vapors for a day or so after a fillup. The issue/pinging etc is gone.
I cant find anything for purge settings, as in TPS% to enable/disable, change purge % etc. Am I just going to have to live with the vapors, or is there some way to modify the evap params to alleviate the issues?
    Thanks

Did you try enabling the dtc's. Can you find the correct 06 solenoid?

I still have the factory solenoid.
was using the CTS-V solenoid since it mounts straight to the snout.
With the plug back in place of the CTS-V solenoid, its back to running normal.
Was monitoring purge solenoid and vent solenoid activity with VCM scanner. they appear to be working as they should. and manually, I can use VCM scanner to control opening/closing etc and that seems to work as well. Didn't re-enable the DTC's as I didn't care if I had a leak, just wanted the fumes out of my face LOL. Probably just run the hose from the steel vent line at the firewall down to the inner fender and atmosphere just to get it out of the engine compartment.

should have originally posted in gen4... oops.
re-tuning the evap table since everything else was tuned with the table in place and evap plugged would probably mean easier to completely redo VE etc. so, I used a 3D printer nozzle as a restriction in my evap line before the solenoid. nice restriction of 0.4mm, keeps the amount of vapors down, no more -25% STFT, no more tip in knock. and no more fuel smell
