Since The repository is closed, is it possible to get some stock files here?

Are you looking for something specific or just one to check out? The problem is, unlike domestics, european cars are notorious for multiple different ecu versions every year. Some are interchangeable but many are not.

HPT probably doesnt support the engine on that as its a diesel.

Plus I would recommend to most to read them separately or else when you go to flash it I believe you will have to credit both.

You should be able to combine them into one file. When you go to license it will ask you which controllers you want to license. If you have extra credits on your interface this would be a good way to avoid accidentally spending extra though.

I had similar issue but other way around. Would read ECU but not TCU. I put in a trouble ticket and support was added in under 24 hrs. I think mine was just a minor version difference and one they hadn't seen before, so it was easy fix.

Were you able to read the ECU/TCU, or does it identify the part and then provide you with a generic stock file to work with?

Generic stock file that it downloads. I don't think we actually have the ability to read.

Is that just for this platform?

The description of the product: "Connect > Read > Edit > Write > Drive." and that for the support of VW: "Using the latest generation MPVI2 and the feature packed VCM Suite - read, write, and edit your vehicle's calibration wherever you want." gave me the impression it would be able to read the tune.

It's Audi/VW and some controllers on other platforms. Most likely due to different security measures enabled by the OEM. The software is looking at your operating system / box code and providing you the appropriate stock rom.
