Will I be able to create a map I can sell with a dongle to a customer who wont have access to the actual file? If not, is there a plan to ever have this done?

Hey Snyper.
Going off of your previous deleted answer...
Sharing the wealth doesnt necessarily mean sahring your tune file. And even if you did share your tune file, doesnt mean that the person that might want to copy the tune knows hows to DUPLICATE your results. Example... HPT user wants to know how to change boost level. He's tried this and that but no success. He/she comes in here and asks for help. And gets crickets... For situations like that, share the wealth. Point that person to the correct table.
If someone does copy your tune, OK. Now, put them on a car with SLIGHTLY different mods and ask them to tune it. Crickets. I had a few of my tune files copied. And when they were flashed on certain cars, the cars didnt run. And I have actually come across these cars and RETUNED THEM because of "differences" in the car.
I dont see much community help coming from the Nissan/Infiniti side, honestly. And unfortunately.

Sharing on here is one thing. I have absolutely zero issues with that. I have been in situations, last week actually, where someone wanted to get into my tune file for the bikes so he could stop sending customers to me. I've also seen issues where an inexperienced person will take your tune, change it, hurt something, and then try to blame you. I just prefer the customer having zero access to my work. If something needs to be changed, it should be up to us to change it, not the customer. When something goes wrong, it's always the tuners fault. Having the tune locked literally eliminates this issue. ECUTec(I need to stop bringing it up) but allows the tuners work to be protected and allows the customer to NOT be stuck with that tuner. If you don't want my tune anymore, remove it and go elsewhere. It's just like mechanical work...If I install an exhaust on your car and you decided to go with a new exhaust, am I expected to replace the exhaust for free? No.
Also, if you've ever spent weeks perfecting a tune just to see someone with decent experience reverse engineer your tune in a matter of hours and sell it as their own...it gets irritating.
I will always share anything anyone wants to know in this forum. DM me if you need help with something and I will show you exactly what I am doing. It's the average customer I'm worried about.
If HPT wants to maintain and grow, they need to AT THE VERY LEAST, keep up with technology that has been out for a while now. Expecting people to stick around because you were good with old technology doesn't seem like good business practice. For guys who make a living tuning, how do you expect people to keep coming to you when the answer to "What is the benefit of X vs X?"...is "NOTHING" There is no map switching, boost on the fly, map protection, phone app support...so, what reason would a customer want to go with us over a different software?
We've been asking and waiting for stuff to get us up to PAR..... I can't tell you how much opportunity I've lost (as well as HPT) due to lack of.. just about everything. I had 13 people ready for a tune that all wanted a pop/bang tune for ther VQ engine...6 months ago.
Damn, didn't mean for this to turn into a vent.
