    2006 300c 6.4 Hemi Swap

I am new here, so HI.
I am currently getting a 2016 6.4 Hemi ready to go into my 2006 300c. My question is, should I use the ECU that came with the 2006 300c 5.7 Hemi or should I use the ECU that came with the 2016 6.4 Hemi? The only mod is a stage 2 Comp Cam kit.
I understand that I will need to change the crank sensor and pickup if I stay with the original 2006 300C ECU, and I am not sure if I can take advantage of the cam phaser and active runners. I am prepared to lock the cam and active runners. Also I have a spare 6.4 harness to get bits and pieces from if required.
If I go with the 2016 ECU that came with the 2016 6.4 Hemi, can I get it to work with the 2006 300C?
I have recently purchased a MPVI2 and the The Tuning School Dodge Beginners HP Tuners Course. So I am on a step learning curve.
Opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also is there anything else I need to consider that I may have over looked?

    Thanks in advance

You're going to need to use the 2016 ecm and harness. You will also want to use the bcm from the 16 if you have it and I would go ahead and swap the 8 speed if its off an 8 for sure.. Good luck brother.

    Thanks for your reply.
I was going to use the original 5 speed from the 2006 300c. The reason for the 6.4 swap was that I purchased the 2006 300c with a blown engine super cheap and I figured it would be cheaper and a lot more fun to swap the 2016 6.4 in place of the 2006 5.7. The 5.7 had 216 000 KM or 135 000 miles on the clock. It dropped multiple valve seat and damaged pistons and heads and had sludge for oil.
I have the 8 speed, but want to keep that for a 1967 Barracuda along with a stroked supercharged Hemi. No firm decision as yet. I had also heard that the 2016 8 speed is larger and wont fit the 1st gen 300c(this may or may not be correct, just what I heard). Also I want to keep costs down a little, so no major mods. Saving that for the Barracuda and the wife is watching.
I had never thought of running both ECUs. I didnt know I could run ecm from one car and bcm from another. How does that work to keep everything happy?
I was assuming that I would have to use the 2006 ECU, install a 6.1 Hemi 32 tooth crank sensor tone ring on the 2016 6.4 crank and using HP TUNERS to make changes to Displacement, disable MDS, injector size settings, idle settings, start up, idle/part throttle/WOT and spark if required all due to displacement increase and cam upgrade. I am assuming that the 2006 ECU can read the cam sensor from the 2016 6.4 or I can use the sensor from the 2006 5.7.
I hope my Aussie accent hasnt made it too difficult to understand me.LOL
    Appreciate any help.

I think you can just replace the engine and the crank sensor to that compatible with the 6.1 and just treat it as a stroked motor that you have to tune . If it’s only the engine it would be way easier than adding the transmission and such just keeping everything stock . But a big issue is that the 06 is non vvt engine while the 2016 is a vvt engine I don’t know how that would play out honestly but shops that did a swap similar avoid mixing vvt with non vvt

I dont mind loosing the VVT as the cam I have chosen has to be limited anyway. I have purchased a lock out for the cam and the active runners. I may even just put a 6.1 intake on the engine and save the 6.4 intake. Has any one ever added these controls as a additional module to plug into the CAN or OBDII?
