    Weird timing delema +4 knock

2017 Mustang GT. Pump 94 octane. Just tune / CAI / off road catback. WOT hit in 3rd. 3000 rpm - 4100 rpm added 3 degrees added. 4200 - 7300 took away 3.5-4 degrees. Added 1/2 degree at 6000 another 1/2 degree at 6700 all the way to 7300 for a 21.5 - 22 degree total timing. Normal should be 26-27 degrees I think ? Could it be bad gas ? False knock ? Fuel trims are bang on with the PMAS. I figured with bad gas it'll remove timing from everywhere ? Otherwise it pulls like a freight train. Thanks for any input.

Edit: Upon further review, I think I seen what's going on. Seem on the 'hit' it went +3 and timing dropped to 21.5 Tried to add -3 for a few hundred RPM, then went back +4 above 5000. So that means bad gas if I'm reading it right ?

Seems pretty low for N/A. I got around 27 degrees pretty easily with 93 octane on a stock Gen1 in 3rd @ WOT.

Run that gas out and try a different station. If it still does it you may have false knock or some other issue going on.
Knock Retard is the reduction or prevention of knock by lowering ignition timing:

(+) Adding Knock Retard = Reducing Timing. PCM is seeing knock.
(--) Lowering Knock Retard = Increasing Timing. PCM isn't seeing knock.

That was the problem. It was tryna maintain a 14.6 stoich at WOT. Thanks for the hint.

Any reason for it not going into power enrichment @ WOT ? Thanks.

    I don't understand, Ford uses lambda, stoich = 1

So are you commanding WOT 1?

It should be something like .83

What made you adjust the power enrichment/wot fuelling parameters? I use 0.85 for wot. Stock settings start at 0.85 and richen to 0.825 or something like that as the rpms climb.

I didn't adjust anything. Just trying to figure out where my tuner 'messed up'. Anybody have the stock fueling tables ? Thanks.
