    Jaguar F-type 3.0 Supercharger 2017

    Hello to all

    i own a 2017 Jaguar F-type, i will install a Crank pulley to get more boost from my Supercharger. As i never tuned this car, and i didnt know how it works. I will be really pleased if any one of you could you tell me which tables are the main ones to edit Lambda, Timing and limits to avoid any problem before install the Pulley.

    I did a log and i got around 11.75 PSI (around 0,8 Bar) at full throttle. I saw the map and this car is based in torque management/modeling for fueling, but i prefer ask before anything

    I think that it is better to find a Jaguar local service nearby you and discuss this question with specialist becuase, in general, you can male everything with your car and everything can work properly but in a few months or even years you can get the headache.

    The problem is we dont have any Jaguar specialist here, in Spain, no also jaguar specialist, even HP tuner specialist and that is the reason from my question. I am Engine calibrator for race cars with more that 15 years experience, using standalone ecu, and some time OEM ecus, but i never used HP tuner with jaguar before and i want understand how this ecu works before touch anything.

    I will test my new Pulley in the Jaguar, anyone insteresting on results? HP tuners got me more limits tables to rise them and avoit limits. My crank pulley is for about 80HP more.
    Car works with Load and torque demand, and will be interesting some help with this feature, if anyone insterested let me know.

    i will install the pulley next week. i had a oil leak from the crankshaft grommed and it is in the workshop
    I did the base map with the new limits and torque requests. Need install the pulley and do some logs

    Hi to all

    I installed the new crank pulley, but before that i did a log. I could see the stock calibration retard about 2/4 degrees timing just when you push the throttle to 100%, around 3000rpm, i am using 95 octane fuel, may be with 98 would retard less.

    I edited the torque demand VS thottle, torque limits, boost limits, supercharge relieve valve, edited lambda power demand table and some other related tables.

    First test. i could not did a log (raining day) but i could feel the car more crispy (mainly by the torque demand table) and as i get more boost sooner the car is more fast. As soon i can i will do a log to check the torque demand vs real torque, to adjust the torque tables to avoid any compensation

    I tested today the car with the new pulley at WOT. I found that i dont have knock anymore.

    but very disapointed because i could see the Boost is exactly the same as STOCK, i assume the recirculation valve is opening to get this boost all the time.
    I edited the SC bypass control valve. Desired position and relative position

    Both tables had 100% at the top end, i put 70% now, i logged the position and this position is getting lower at RPM rises. Let see if less % postiion means more flow and pressure. no more tables to control the bypass valve.

    Fuel.
    The car is around 10.9 AFR / 0.70 Lambda at WOT that is really rich, but i dont have any table to see the comanded AFR or any other to edit the AFR, only on power demand that i have around 12.5 AFR / 0.85 Lambda.
    No other table to has a relationship to edit lambda or torque/lambda...
    Checking the log, AFR demanded is 10.9 because the lambda short trim correction is only around 1% positive (adding fuel) so the car is programmed to go to this value.

    Any idea?

    Yesterday i was testing with bigger changes in the tables. Good results.
    I could see the boost rise from 0.8 bar to 1.3 bar. that is because you need rise the torque to load table, torque limits, and base pressure bypass control.

    Lambda, Car in stock is really rich, around 10.8 AFR (0.74 lambda), i adjusted the lambda to 11.5, that is really odd, because you dont have a lambda table in the fuel menu, you need go to exhaust, there is a lambda correction table. that is your target, but you need edit your other lambda correction tables and egt lambda. This car is running in Close loop all the time, so lambda correction is working all the time, i see 1% correction almost the time

    Knock. Stock map has a lot of knock and midrange, just at the first moment of the pull, i could see -8? retard in some cylinder, i edited the map to remove them for stock and with the new boost, i was need it to remove a little bit more in other areas. Need check new changes on timing.

    Throttle pedal. I edited a little bit my pedal to be more sensitive at city driving, in stock form is a little bit laggy, but that depends on you and your preferences.

    Other two things i would share are, water temp is really high, around 100?c all the time, like air temp, i have several sensors, but the main one is running at 125?c, i imagine that could be pre-intercooler, because i have other on pull that goes to 70?c

    Torque with stock pulley is 470Nm and 135% engine load, 90.400 Kg/h desire bypass sc valve, and with bigger pulley is 525 Nm (41% engine torque) 170% engine load, 13.900 Kg/h desire bypass sc valve, Supercharger mass flow 1.550 Kg/h

    I think i can get more boost playing with the Torque demand, problem is the temp, that is really high. The feeling right now is much better focus in the first kick...you can feel the car goes like a rocket, for sure is more faster than before, but as is a supercharger is really smooth power delivery.

    thanks for the additional information. When I get a chance I'll take a look at my parameters to see if I make any of the above changes will it help with any additional boost or torque. Maybe not since I only have the stock pulley. But I like trying different settings to see how it affects the F-Type.

    I spoke with the company who did the pulley, they use other system to tune the Jaguar Ecu, they told me that HP tuners gets may PIDs with wrong values, but it is not its problem, comes from the OEM factory service tool that gets this PIDs in wrong values also. They told me that one of the wrong values are the knock retard.

    The factory tool is SDD, and gets wrong values and they told me the new tool, called Pathfinder, would solve the problem that is not implemented yet

    they told me that Crank pulley could gets 3.5 psi more, and SC pulley 1.5 psi. I got 7 PSI more using only the crank pulley, i assume the stock pulley can get more PSI, you can try to rise your torque demand.

    The F-Type has the "normal" version, that is the version i have with 340hp, and the "S" version with 380hp. I dont think Jaguar changes anything on the car and everything would be done by ECU

    hi guys, it is possible up boost without change pulley, my version it si 380 ps.my software version not suuport hp tuners, i use winols to tune this car but i can't up boost

    the only way to see if you can rise the boost (remember, you have a supercharger, not a turbo, so boost comes from pulley size and rpm) is rising the torque demand and playing with the recirculation valve.
    If you check the valve and it is 100% closed and you rised the torque demand and your boost is the same... you are done

    If you ecu version is not supported by HP tuners, contact them and send your ecu file, (can you read it with HP?) if you have the damos or mappack for winols, send it also, that was the way i did, and they did my definition.

    I’m xf 3.0 sc. It’s the first time I came into contact with ecu tuning. I noticed that this car is too unpopular. I originally planned to download some tuning files for comparison and study, but found that basically no one shared them.

    i replied to your private email, as i told you there, the jaguar ecu is not the best point to learn ecu tuning or test, you can destroy your engine really fast, mainly when you have a very aggressive timing in stock format (with 95 octane you can have 4-6 knock retard) so when you install the pulley you have a very aggressive knock that you can hear!!!!

    Other thing i could see, at logging i can see really high water and intake temps...are not right, if i check in real time, the values are correct, water arround 85 and intake around 50, but if you store this log, and then you see it offline, the temps are stupid high, so for some reason, the software modify the temps to stupid values in offline
