    4.6L DOHC CAM Caps

I have a question for all my DOHC 4.6L SME's. How important is the webbing between the caps? i broken the little horse web on the back cam cap. i attached a picture. from what i can tell it should not be a problem, when the 5.o DOHC came out the eliminated the webbing and just put caps. Any thoughts, i know the caps are matched to the head and i would either have to replace the head or get a cap and have the cam bores honed. i was think about TIG welding it? thanks in advanced

4.6 Windsors didnt even have the cap girdles. They were individual cam caps if that tells you how important they are.

I ran a 98 cobra for a couple years with the webbing broken with no ill effect.
