MOPAR crate ECU...really unlocked??

Hey all,

I purchased the MOPAR 6.2L engine control package (PN: 77072452AD) which comes with a stripped down wiring harness, pedal assembly, ECU, and some other bits. The ECU says it's "unlocked" but I'm not really sure what that means. Does it mean that I can natively flash it with HP Tuners or do I still need to send it in to HP for the unlocking service?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

For others that may run into this -

I emailed the fabulous staff at HP Support. Here was their response - The Dodge Crate PCM is unlocked and you do not need to send in for unlocking. You should be able to read out the PCM and write it the PCM with out issues, make sure you use up to date version of VCM Editor.
