    It's 2020 - what's best way to program 05 GTO for 4L80e?

I've read about using a cable with relays in it, and I've read about doing segment swaps. I'm not finding a compatible segment to swap with the 05 GTO OS. Is reflashing to a different OS the way to go and if so what are people using?

    TIA - Greg

Seems like a lot of interest in this (over 50 views so far) but no opinions offered as of yet...

Can't segment swap a 2005 GTO. Get the harness from PCM of NC. The harness switches the two solenoids that work opposite in the 65. Use the 4L65 tune to run the 4L80. Works great. Got to retune the trans section with the correct gear ratio and shifting. That's if you are swapping from a 65 to the 80. If you have a 6 speed, you have some more work.

On Gen4s with separate ECM/TCM, it's the TCM OS that has to match up for a segment swap. The ECM OS is irrelevant.

This has nothing to do with whether there's a TCM OS somewhere out there that's compatible or not, just general info.
