Sure it's not the ABS kicking in?

Disconnecting just one front wheel speed sensor is the best way. That faults out all the actuators for ABS, stabiltiy control, torque vectoring etc, but still keeps the modules powered up so things like average driven wheel speed (assuming RWD or truck in 2WD) and communications etc work properly. Note when you have electric brake boost (MY19+ trucks) this is definately the best way otherwise you throw a lot of codes.
