Your luck may have finally changed for the better.
The 2007 E38 OS12608677 is unique - and was used only by HD 4x4 trucks with the 4L80 transmissions. The corresponding 2007 4L80 T42 uses OS24235341.
If you have the ability fully program these modules via the GM VIN database, then also program the T42 while you are at it.
These matched operating systems communicate with each other - but generally do not communicate with most other operating systems.
So do I download and flash the "12608677 - Main Operating System". I assume that would flash the PCM and TCM at the same time right?

If there is an option for a cal file, and you don't have the specific complaint it calls out, choose the other one.
The segments may be slightly different than shown above, I believe TIS has updated it since the '07 Sub file was added to the repository here.
No, ECM and TCM are flashed in separate operations, they are separate devices. I would do the ECM first, then the TCM. Make sure to finish the procedure after doing the first one - cycle the key, etc. - before doing the second one.
I now see the ECM and TCM are separate options on the first dropdown menu so it seems that would be 2 complete different steps. I just want to make sure I'm getting the correct OSID for this to work so I dont brick my PCM. I'm new to this GEN4 stuff and i've never used a pass through before or some any PCM programing outside of what HPTuners can do

I don't know the Snap-On procedure, but using GM tools at the very start it gives the option of "Reprogram" or "Replace and reprogram" - one uses the VIN already stored in the module, the other lets you input a VIN manually. It then connects to the TIS server and pulls down the calibration for that VIN. Then you program it.
You have to be careful with the E38 ECU, to be safe if the ECU is from 07 or 08 only use calibration from those years. If you use calibration file from newer ECU on an old one you run the risk of bricking it. Best thing to do in your situation is to program the ECU and TCM with GM SPS or compatible programming tool. Choose an express van with 4l80e matching whichever year the ECU is from.

A T42 program from an Express / Savana van will not communicate with his 2007 E38 OS12608677.
The communication issues were clearly stated in post #22.
His VIN is already for a 2007 LY6 6.0L with a 4L80 - a matched set.
Minor correction - the VIN that's been posted was harvested from the Suburban repository file. The Suburban file is compatible with the ECM service number already on hand.
I used the repo file to come up with the 07 Suburban ECM + TCM OS pairing I mentioned in post 9 and yes, it's a unicorn, but very helpful for swap purposes!
smalblock500, use SPS with the 07 Suburban VIN to program your 07 Vette ECM to ECM OS 12608677. Then use SPS with the same VIN to reprogram your TCM to OS 24235341 and it will be a happy 07 Suburban ECM +TCM OS.

got that figured out. I coulden't make the SPS work I thought i had java installed on this pc but i did not. I installed java and it went through as it should. my pcm is now a 2007 suburban 2500 6.0.

Make sure you flash the TCM to match, then you should be set!
