I asked if you needed help tuning the truck then I looked at your recent posts and saw you talking about tuning customers for a shop.

Oh, all good. Don't need help with it currently. Was just posting the tune up to help anyone else who wanted to see it. That and i was curious what the "race mode" in the calibration is.

“Race” condition is part of Ford racing os. Which Whipple and Roush use.

It just became available (in hptuners) about 2 months ago and I haven’t emailed support to ask what triggers it/ or how it functions.

My only observation is that it is active on all of the current Whipple cals.

The parameters for it in the file looks like it always (or almost always) active. I like the addition of the "dyno mode" in the file to totally disable all of the traction/stability control in the F150.

While I agree that it looks like it’s always active, I’ve not seen where it actually uses any of the tables vs what’s normally used or mapped.

I have done a bunch of Whipple 2018+ in the last several years...

Best thing to do is contact support and ask them if they know the conditions that active it.

And of course post back here with the information you learn

    ^^^this!

I just love shop owners coming here asking for a free help/tune while most of good Ford tuners had to grind their asses for years investing a lot of money...

I'm not 100% certain on this, as I did not work on these specific whipple cals, but I believe the Whipple flash tools have bi directional controls for turning race mode on or off, and we added the calibration parameters to allow you to adjust the behavior of this mod.

Some of the gt350 and 2017 and older Whipple cals have a race gas or octane switch.

The 2018+ f150 and mustangs don’t have this switch enabled in the tomahawk tool as of 11/24/20

its good hpt is giving table access but we don’t have a way to use it right now

I need a aggressive tune file for a 2011 ford crown victoria police interceptor... The repository says it has stock files but they do not match in the same year description as a stock file ?

I figured out “race mode” in the Whipple cal. Unplugging the “dyno connector” under the hood is what activates it. Oddly, if the front wheel vss exceeds 4 mph, it disables it, so it’s really some sort of enhanced dyno mode (just not the same dyno mode as defined elsewhere in the cal).

Is this the newest tune file that Whipple has?
