Can a 5.3 LC9 w/ DOD hardware still installed run on modified C6 tune?

I'm still new to the GM world, but i'm currently working on a swap into a e46 bmw chassis. I've been researching the best approach to the tuning side of things and my thought process has been this:

    - Keep the engine as unmodified as possible for initial start up and shake down around the block (keep DOD hardware, stock intake, etc.) as it was extracted from the 2007 avalanche, the plan was always to do a software delete of DOD for the initial run down.
    - To do this.. i need to disable VATS & rear O2's (requires 2 Credits against the E38 PCM I have from the 2007 avalanche)
    - The avalanche only ever came with an automatic transmission and I'm running a TR6060 M6, therefore i was planning to flash with GM software to a 2007 C6 vette factory flash w/M6 and re-adjust the VVE tables to match those form the factory 5.3 tune. This would give me an ECM which isn't looking for a TCM and one that the DBW Pedal Segment I know will work with my hardware (not flashable with HPT from what i've read)
    - Flashing the corvette OS with the GM software will lose me the 2 credits I used to unlock the PCM as an avalanche unit which is why I would like to flash with Corvette OS before anything is started, unlock this OS with HPT and tune away from this point.

The real question I have now which I can't find any answers for, is if I were to run the Corvette OS and adjust the VVE calibrations to match the 5.3 specs, would the engine run relatively well with the DOD hardware still intact but no DOD information anywhere in the tune? I know the C6 never shipped with AFM/DOD as a factory option. I don't want functioning DOD, just not sure if the mechanical hardware in the engine will run properly without any controller information present from the E38.

When the time comes, the plan is to delete the DOD hardware, but i'm trying to have the least amount of variables possible for the initial startup. Once you dive into the DOD delete it makes sense to replace with a performance CAM and start further down the rabbit hole.. If this can't be done, I will have to seriously consider the DOD delete prior to first start.

You didnt mention what year vette, as you have to ensure you have the correct reluctor for the ecm. Secondly, the ecm doesnt care that its a dod engine. The dod solenoids are normally closed, so it will remain in v8 mode, unless directed to go to 4 cylinder, which the corvette os will not, nor does it have the wiring for it

I was keeping the year the same as to not brick the e38 ecm. 2007 c6 m6.

But I?ll make sure it has the same reluctor.

As far as confirming the solenoids being normally closed, this confirms what I was hoping. that the engine should run without any input provided any lifters aren?t already failing.

    Thanks !

I misread some of the post, it looks like your using all avalanche stuff, just writing a c6 os to the ecm. Either way, you are good. Yes, solenoids are closed until commanded open, meaning the operate in v8 mode until told otherwise
