VCM Editor Write Process Questions

I am working on a vehicle that is not on the supported list, (RV) but reads fine and will license.
I suspect there are a few missing tables and have reached out to support with the specific ID's for them.

My question is on the re-flashing process.

Does the re-flash write a complete drive image of the ROM...or does it flash (over write) only selected/changed values?

Basically, my fear is that a table or value not shown in the editor (that should be there) would be overwritten with zeros.

I doubt this is the case and I suspect there is a lot more data retained that isn't exposed to the editor, and the flash retains all this data and only changes modified values....I just need to be sure before I possibly brick an ECU
