    09354896 vs 0411 pcm

I?m In the process of swapping in an Ls. I have a 09354896 pcm. I hear a lot about the 0411. Is there any reason to get one over the one I have?

The newer calibrations on the 411 computer are typically better than the early 98-99's. Most will go with a 2001-2002 file on LS engines if they can when running a P01 computer.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Ok. So what exactly is a p01?

Just the name of the computer/controller.

P01 computer were on vehicles from mainly 1998-2002. Then the P59 computer came out in 2003 and went to 2007.

Thanks for the info. I have already licensed the older one but if the 0411 will be better, I will look for one.

Are there any reliable sources for the 0411 pcm? Look like they are all over eBay. Would it be best to just go to a salvage yard?

Yes, just go to a salvage yard and I've yet to pick one up that didn't work perfectly. They are very dependable. Picked up my most recent PCM at the yard for $16 on Half Price Sale Day.

Somewhere around here, it is written that a 0411 can stream parameter ID's for log recording slightly faster than an 896 PCM but I sure can't see that difference when I'm logging.

I already have the 896 and it’s licensed. Sounds like I might should just run it. Would you agree?

There is no discernible difference between the 4896 and 0411 PCMs. You can flash either one with a calibration that was read from either one. For practical purposes you can consider all blue/red connector computers the same with the exception of the 97-98 Vette and 98 F-bofy blue/red PCM. Take the labels off them and you wouldn't know the difference.
