    Timing advance on an L77

    Hi Guys,

I have a VE SS with an L77 in her. I feel like I'm having a problem with timing. I'm running a max about 16-17 timing advance at WOT. Now, even with that timing, I still get about 3 degrees of knock every now and again which I find unusual because it isn't consistant at all. I don't have my WB hooked up yet to do VE table but when I had it on the dyno AFR was around 12.4 the whole run which I have on the PE table. With that timing it made around 265kw (I have an OTR, Walkinshaw full exhaust and extractors). I've been reading they're happy around 20ish degrees but I can't seem to hit that at all with 98, E85 can hit about 21 degrees. Can any inlighten me on this? Attached is tune.

    Cheers

It might be burst knock. Log it and check.

Set the base vs cylair delta table to all zero's.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    They are already 0'd out

I'm sure it's still burst knock as I've bliped the throttle on downshift and can see the burst knock.

I've attached a log from the other day - Seems to be a fair bit of knock everywhere.. Doesn't make sense to me

The tune file you posted does not have the table zero'd.

ECM table 12765 still has values of 3 degrees in last 4 rows.

That idle timing looks like garbage too, no idea why it's setup like that.

Sorry about that, it would help if I upload the right tune.
