    4L80e late model soft 1st gear

    For some reason I can not get the trans to 60ft im thinking i have a setting in the trans tune that is not allowing to put down the power? I cant get better than a 1.91 60ft leaving any where from 2900-4200 rpm.

    please ask if there is any other info needed







    6.0L 9:1 comp

    What is this setup in? There are lots of details missing about this to give any honest help here...
    97 ext cab short bed silverado 5.7 411 swap, edelbrock 29135 intake, lightly ported 906 heads milled .035 thou. factory press in rocker studs & rockers, comp 787 retainers & stock locks, ls6 springs. Comp cams 08-503-8 T56 swap

    what details would you like?

    It is in a 97 S10 EX cab, has a Ford 8.8 narrowed with spool 3.73 gears

    4 link or leaf spring? Spinning or dead hooking. Do you feel like its slipping or blowing through the converter? your also only leaving on about 5psi and touching 15 at the top of first. is there a reason your not trying to leave harder but wanting your 60ft times to get better?

    It is leaf spring with caltracs, 10.5 drag slick, I am not trying to leave soft it just does, Im not blowing through the converter , when I let go of the button it trips the light quick but then just seems to lay over through all of 1st gear as soon as it hits second, it takes off like a raped ape!!! I am leaving on 5psi on the 2 step and am hitting .00 reaction times and my 1/8 are 7.1-7.3 @108-110 and my 1/4 times are 11.3's consistently at 136-142 mph depending on prep.

    I am trying to 60ft better but no matter if i leave at 2600 rpm or 4200 rpm it does the same in the 60ft

    leave at 4k or wherever your converter gets tight. Try to launch closer to 10 psi. Your intake temps are getting sketchy high towards the end of the pass. No intercooler? and its definitely rich I bet you notice a seat of the pants difference going from 10.3 afr to 11.3 which is still perfectly safe. Those intake temps though.... Im curious what they are at the end of a full 1/4 mile pass.

    I was thinking that some kind of torque management in ecu was taking effect in 1st gear causing it to roll 1st so soft,I have tried the 10psi launch at 4100 and it still 60's the same. i have an air to air cooler my intake temps are seeing around 240-250. I am working on doing a E85 set up for the track but i do daily this truck, and e85 is only available in my area in barrels

    His PE is all weird too. He's asking for 1.00 in PE and 1.04 in boost enrichment and just has the VE table super rich instead of using the PE/BE.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    I didn't dig around in the tune much at all. Aside from seeing that the trans torque management did seem stock with abuse mode disabled. I seriously doubt the toque management is doing anything harmful. turn it off or leave it on, people go both ways around here. I would say it could use a little more advance also, But the intake temps are getting way to high. I would be focused on getting those down to a max of 160 at the top of the run. which is still a little on the medium high side for intake temps. definitely sort out the VE & use your PE and BE as they have been designed to.
