I would have to look at what he is talking about, but if it is what I think it?s that he?s talking about, it has to do with defueling regulation, not rail pressure.

Jim do you know if there is a valid torque pid that works on these old ecm's? wanting to log changes and at least get a rough idea of what my changes are making power-wise.

far as this could it be the 7677 PROPORTIONAL MASTER SWITCH is disabled? i know what happened i scrolled over it and didn't even know i had disabled it but happens very easily

    There isn?t a torque PID for the 5.9 ECM?s.

in my never-ending quest to find this stutter, only does it on "kick down" when the RPMs suddenly change if it does not drop a gear it's smooth and fine.
i added all speed gov (bottom purple) to my logging and see it kicks in when it stutters, so either I have a limiter or governor kicking in I think

Could be a possibility. I don?t trust the HP Tuners. Myself had always been highly skeptical of using it on my own truck. Ended up deciding to for some testing reasons and ended up with a screwed up truck.

Can try updating the software and doing a restock of the interface.

A tune I did last month for a guy that wanted the tune on HPT, it won?t do squat to read or flash his truck. He?s been contemplating going to an MM3.

i tried every trick i know with no luck, sent in the info and debug but I think we both know probably cheaper to grab a used ecm and rock on.
i was doing well sadly getting close to the stutter being gone and had plans to use HPT on my 05 engine in my other truck and now I'm nervous as heck, at least I can get an ECM out west for 200+ship but still, my daily is now dead

what did you mean by this? restock of the interface. i did update and tried the regular version as well with no change the ecm is blank it will read dtc's

Sorry, autocorrect. I meant resync the interface. No, VIN cannot be changed with HPT.

tried that found an ECM for 195 CAD + ship + credits and then be freaking nervous of using HPT from here out on these Cummins, I bet HPT won't do anything to help out either

i managed to recover the ecm, HPT said to update beta and try the original supplied file and it worked not sure if they made a change in beta but was a nice surprise to see it flash again

so after many tests and some great guidance from Jim P I think I'm happy with this tune. The only thing I have to do is rebuild the stock turbo and get it back on right now I have an ebay one on there 32psi max but does well just a touch warmer on the long pulls.

so after lots of comparing and looking my 03 stock provided file seemed to have many axes messed up in the timing corrections and multipliers, this seemed to be the biggest issue with stutter and weird idle as well. lots of reading (I hate to read lol) but great info in here and so on. this may not be perfection but for my first tune ever I'm happy, I did use a timing calculator as well I know that's a mixed subject for some but this works well.

any feedback is more than welcome here, thank you

here is log and the latest tune (until i change something haha)

For your Turbo, have you considered an HE351 upgrade?
I did that on my 03 WAYYY back when and I was really happy with its ability to keep EGT's under control (Bully Dog, Crazy Larry).
