    Help Needed: ZF8 Starting in 2nd Gear

    Hello. I'm trying to make my 2011 Audi A4 start in 2nd gear. If anyone has information or advice on what to try, it would be greatly appreciated.

    I have modified the maps for shift scheduling to be 0 (zero) for 1>2 and the 2>1 rows, from 0% to 100% throttle. It still wants to start in first but "immediately" shifts to 2nd. If you let it sit for a a second or so in D with the brake on, it will clunk into 2nd and you can start driving in 2nd gear.

    In S and Manual mode, it still starts in 1st, which is the way I want it. If I shift from S or M to D it goes into directly into 2nd, and has the same decent clunk as previously mentioned.

    Thanks for the reply, and the file. I'll compare it tonight with my stock and modified file!

    My file I've been working on will be pretty odd looking, as the TC maps are set to eliminate slip in gears 1/2/3 due to an issue with my TC, from when I initially bought the car.

    So I did take a look at your file. Tried it out, but still clunks in the same manner, with no changes to what mode you are in. Appreciate the help!!

    i used your file to fix what i believe is causing you to start in second (tcm 44075, 44076 30625, and 30626). i didnt really look at anything else if this doesnt fix it let me know.

    oh sorry i misread, there was someone else that had issue that his shifted to second gear as soon as he hit gas before 2 k rpm. will look at it 2moro.

    No worries appreciate the help! Sounds good I'll try out the changes. Are the Aggression 1 patterns 1/6/11/16/21, used while in D only? I've been modifying table 6 in Aggression 1 to see results from changes I make in D. I've been having a difficult time figuring out logging for shift patterns and TC maps that are being used. I'm going to start a ticket to ask HPT, but I waited a bit as I've bugged them enough lol

    I log tcc type and tcc pattern.
    i was think of something else we could try but if we disable tcm 46965 1, 11 ... , sport mode and drive mode both share tcc char map 1 and 11 didnt look any further to see what other tcc char maps are shared good info in these posts:

    Sorry for the delay. Still had the same clunk. Tyler had provided me with an SQ5 file for reference, as they do a 2nd gear start in ECO mode. I loaded up the applicable tables, but it turns out they just shift into 2nd as quick as it can once the vehicle starts moving. Better then nothing I guess..!

    I'm playing with a different strategy now, based on D up/downshifting more like I drive a manual transmission. Not as aggressive upshifting as Sport mode overall, but 1st and 2nd hold longer before shifting. I've also configured D and S so they only have 1 table to choose from each, so it's a lot more consistent feeling. One other thing I am trying is I have set a 5300rpm rev limit for D and S modes, as I shift there with the paddles anyways, most of the time. Tiptronic and M mode still have the 6700rpm limit for when I want be mean to her lolololl
