iPhone 12 Pro + XGPS160 + GoPro Hero 5 black unstable connection and no GPS

    Hello,

I've been using Track addict and Race render for quite some time, you can see my videos here > https://www.youtube.com/user/mario206rc/videos

Till last track day, I was using iPhone 6 with XGPS160 and GoPro Hero 5 black and there were small issues with GoPro connection which sometimes broke, and with XGPS160 which sometimes lost connection which was weird because in SkyPro application there was always good connection to many satellites.

Lately I purchased iPhone 12 Pro, thought that this would solve my problems, but problems got 10x worse! GPS signal with XGPS160 is almost always not available and searching, and when I switch it to internal iPhone GPS, situation is even worse. Also, GoPro connection is lost every few minutes and then I have to stop logging and turn off and turn on GoPro to make a new connection with TrackAddict.

So long story short - TrackAddict is now useless since I can't record whole lap without signal being lost or GoPro being disconnected.

Do you have solution to this problem? I'm using paid version of your iPhone TracAddict and RaceRender application.

    Mario

No answer after more than 1 week? What kind of support is that?

Not sure if this helps, but I have an iPhone 12 Pro, and usually link it to my BMW 5 Series for music etc. via a lightning to USB generic type cable (certified for data use). Which all worked fine with an iPhone 8 Plus.

What I found, was that the old lightning cable no longer works, you must use the new one supplied with the iPhone 12 Pro, plus a converter.
In my case it was a standard USB in the car to USB-C Female, and then use the new cable (EU has USB-C to Lightning because of the EU laws), and all the data connectivity was restored again.

Jsolman, my GoPro is connected via WiFi and XGPS160 via Bluetooth, no physical connection to anything. It's used in an old Audi S3 8P from 2008. The only other BT thing connected to my phone is BT from Audi, but disconnecting that doesn't help with my problem

emailing support, would get a faster response from support. Although support often replies to issues here, it is in fact an end user forum, not a support forum.

always email support for a direct response

I didn't know that - but looks like I'm the only one with that problem

I bought a XGPS160 and after 3 full days of trying to acquire signal, i said heck with this, sent it back! So odds are, it's the XGPS160, it sounds pretty flaky, even when it does work, accuracy is not good.

Now I use this, and it's SOOOO GOOOD. Super accurate, Super Cheap, $30 total? Only problem, it currently only works with Android with TrackAddict. Other program that use BLE, which then works with IOS. 10hz updates, super accurate. I put one in every car.

Yes, XGPS160 is very super slow, it takes up to 5 minutes to get position from many sattelites. But once it's connected it should work ok. But it doesn't apparently when connected to Trackaddict and new iPhone 12 pro.
