All,

Why are downshift pressures on the 8L90E so high at low torque? Here is my 3-2:

kPa 100 200 300 400 500 N m
Pressure 511 348 200 250 300

So below 300 Nm it starts to ramp up the base downshift pressure.

I am tweaking some of the downshifts that seem a little on the harsh side. Sometimes 8-7 and 3-2 are harder than I care. Not sure if it is trying to "rev match" and sucks at executing causing a higher RPM into gear vs. what it needs. I have had some success lowering this 100 Nm values and blending to the dip. 8-7 seemed to get a lot better after bumping it down about 10%. I have taken 3-2 down about 25% with improvement, but still noticeable.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense to me and curious if others have some good reasons on why it is this way. The 2-1 is not and I guess what I would expect to see for lower torque in my simple thoughts on autos.
