What would that let you do that the ECM+TCM file won't? You can write-entire ONLY the TCM (after spending whatever credits that asks for), if that's the only part you want to use.

Trying to do a write entire on the tcm i got a ecm and tcm from different years . Im going to remove the tcm controller I currently have on my file and add the tcm controller from the 07 escalade so they can communicate

Select 'do not write' on the ECM, and write entire on the TCM, then when you read the ECM+TCM you'll have your one file with the two parts you need.
