Smart access cable install in Challenger

Hoping for a (much) easier way to bypass the SGM rather than spending a day disassembling my dash and hoping I don't break anything. Why can 't you bypass the gateway through the module in the trunk the way some other devices do? I have an OBD2 connector in my trunk now that bypasses the SGM and allows me to program tire diameter and actuate relays and pumps etc. This won't allow the car to be flashed too? Would love to save a day's work.

There's also a SGM hub below/behind the glovebox where the SGM can be bypassed (correct?). Can I use a simple bypass cable here, which is even easier than the trunk?

Diablo gateway bypass cable can be used here without issue. Think it's called star cable. Just route the cable through the dash without taking it apart any further than the fuzzy kick area panels which have lights for feet. No issue reading, writing or scanning while plugged in, and also no need for internet when flashing either.

I showed this video to a shop, they installed my cable in 20 minutes.
