2021 Mustang GT Premium cannot read

unknown controller detected on latest beta and firmware on mpiv2

I saw an ad from hptuners saying 2021 mach 1 support. Mach 1 is supported but not regular GT?

I think you pick the controller from the dropdown menu, check this post and see if it applies:

I worked with support to get my definition added so there's a new VCM beta version now. Also I've asked them to add some tables that are not mapped that I use on cobb ford applications.

Just got a 2021 Mustang GT 6MT in today. Guy just completed break in mileage. No ECU identified so selected the latest TC-298B I believe. Went through the setup process but then was unable to initialize and read. Any updates on this. Running the very latest beta updated today. Also tried the non-beta version just in case.

Any update on this? Currently trying to read a 2021 GT

Sure would be nice to know this information considering I sold a tune based on the "supported vehicles list" and now am stuck. Have tried all the available processors in the drop down.

I just bought a 2021 Mustang GT premium and I am getting the same unknown controller error when I try to read the PCM. I tried multiple times, I also tried selecting TC-298, 2018+Ford which it did read but when I went to save the file I got an error that the file was bad and to contact hp tuners support. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Am I missing a step or something? Any help would be much appreciated. I have the latest version of the VCM software.

Have you contacted hp tuners support? If not please start by doing so, you can do so via our main page or our support email address.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
