    OK, I'm stumped...Need help!!

Here is the back story...Have a '13 Mustang GT with VMP blower and a locked tune from VMP. The car runs on E85 and has cold start issues. It will start immediately and rev to 2k and then when it tries to settle the idle, it dies. I have to restart the car 4 or 5 times until it will hold the idle and not die. It also backfires, spits and sputters when the revs go below 1k, during this process. Once it will run and hold the idle at runs fine. The car is tuned with SCT and has a X4 tuner. When I load the stock tune from the X4, it will not start. The starter does not engage, like the file is corrupted. Load the VMP tune in and it will start and run(with said cold start issues)
Sooo, I made a thread about this a week or so ago, looking for solutions and trying to avoid spending $300 on credits. Luckily, Decipha hooked me up with a stock cef for this pcm. I loaded it as a custom tune and once again, I get a no start condition. Has anyone seen this before and have any suggestions?

It sounds like your tune has theft disabled. Disable theft and see if you can get it started.

Otherwise re-initalize a theft learn and you should be good. Either way.

i'll send you a stock tune with theft disabled.

Thanks to Decipha, again for several files, trying to get one to fire it off and no luck. Anyone else run into something like this?

Write stock with X4 and read it with HPT, see if PATS switch is turned on or off.

Also, try to log a torque source with scanner while cranking - it will show PATS if your immobilizer is active.

I did read the stock file, but did not check the pats status. Will check. Thanks!

Update: Contacted SCT and they forced stock files onto X4 and still nothing. He even tried a file with PATS disabled and no joy. I wish I could figure out why the VMP file will work and all of the other files, that have been tried, will not.

Did you scan for PATS related issues?
The only time I ever ran into a no start was due to PATS.

The PATS is enabled on the stock file. You can get a no start with the wrong or corrupted strategy. Looks like I will be towing to Ford.

I thought I mentioned it before, but the car has a th400. I'm thinking the automatic trans setting in the custom tune is disabled, where it is enable on the stock file. I will test this and report back.
