2012 Caprice PPV - E38 L77 Stage 2 BTR Cam startup tune assistance

    Good Afternoon,

I have a 2012 Caprice PPV L77 that has just undergone the following:

    - BTR Stage 2 LS3 N/A Cam swap - Specs: 225/238 .620"/.605" 113+3
    - DoD delete kit with LS7 Lifters, 7.400" chromoly pushrods, BTR .660" Dual Spring kit
    - Solo Performance 2.5" catback exhaust (still has the stock manifolds for now)
    - Stock 6L80 stall converter
    - Stock intake manifold
    - Stock MAF sensor

Just purchased the HPT kit and was able to pull data and turn off the DoD and raise the idle RPM a little bit (completely new to tuning but trying to research as much as I can to get familiar) but that's as far as I was able to get comfortably.

I'm looking to see if someone could possibly look over the files I was able to pull or kind of point me in the right direction of what I need to adjust based on the files (so I can actually drive it home from my mechanic's shop).

    - 12ChevyCapricePPVstock read with new cam.hpt - First fire up with pedal input to keep from stalling
    - 12ChevyCapricePPV-DODdeleteRaisedidle.hpt - DOD turned off and raised idle

    Thank you in advance!

hey im new to tuning also but you need to raise your rpm up to at least 650-700, base airflow table, boost your idle spark advance up to actually get it running without the pedal,i just installed a tsp stage 1 cam and all the info i been reading got my car to idle and at least drive but kills when i stop unless i shift to neutral.

Thanks! In the top file, I was able to add 300 as it seemed like a common number across other G8's and limited Caprice postings. Haven't touched any tables yet but from what you've said, I'll dig into those next (have until Friday to get it somewhat sorted). I work in different IT related fields and this seems to be very similar to overclocking PC's through FSB, BCLK speeds, voltage, etc. as it looks to be a common formula of order to start with (the more I watch tutorials or reading guides).

Side note, do you plan on getting a stall with your Stage 1 or not necessary just yet?

I'd try adding 1-2g/s of air in the base airflow tab too, everywhere up to 1200rpm

    Idle>Airflow>Airflow Final Minimum

Here's the adjustment file from both of your suggestions. What are some other tabs under engine (Fuel, Spark, Airflow) I should be looking to safely change?

This file will get you running with a decent idle so you can start tuning.

    Cheers.

Thank you very much! I'll copy the changes over to my modded base file and log info to re-post (my mechanic will thank you for freeing up a bay after sitting for 2 months lol )

You don't need to copy the changes over, just flash it in. That way you wont miss anything either.

Ah gotcha! For some reason I thought that we couldn't just copy someone else's file to yours if there wasn't a serial or something present. I'll give it a shot tonight and report back.
