Oh that sucks. I semi bricked a 4.3 one time. Someone opened the door it continued to flash said complete then wouldn't fire. Flashed full stock still wouldn't start. Disconnected battery for a hour then it fired up. I drove it for a hour to make sure ecu still worked. So ya very scary experience I get it.

Just not worth it to me. Seen multiple unrecoverable 6.7 Cummins ECM?s from HP Tuners. Locked into the bootloader. I hate the restrictions with HP Tuners too. EFILive costs more but you get way more with it compared to HP Tuners. I can change OS, use custom .bin files, full calibration access to everything and it just works.

    Thanks Guy.

Needless to say, I now have 5 position switchable tuning available for the 2010-2012 Cummins on HP Tuners, can do up to a 13 position switchable tuning for the 2010-2012 and up to 11 position switchable tuning for the 2013+ on EFILive and will be porting my stuff over to EZ Lynk as well for 5 position switchable tuning on that platform.

Great job Jim! If/when I want to tune my 2019 Ram Cummins, I will be contacting you. I know EFILive is awesome, but the $1000 price tag to be able to self tune is hard to justify. I am still waiting on HP Tuners to offer support.

The EFILive is worth every penny spent compared to HP Tuners.

I would agree. Are you using the latest software with a V3? I know it has the ability to convert Xcal files. I haven't purchased a V3 yet and still rocking the old software.

I?m still using the v2, most recent software update. The xcal converter has been around for years.

I was just looking at my CM2450 calibration in HP Tuners. Looks like there are 10 modes listed for tables that can be changed (I am sure there are more modes; probably emissions related). How would your CCV trick work for the CM2450?

The CCV SOTF would work on the CM2450. The 2019+ if I remember correctly pretty much always runs on mode 9.
