Hi folks,
I am a diesel tech who has had previous experience re-mapping CAT and Cummins engines with factory software, and that is a challenge all in itself.
I am helping a good friend of mine get his 15 LML Duramax back on track. DPF, injectors, etc. have been ruined by a bad tune (Done before he bought the truck). All of the hardware has been replaced except for the DPF and we are not installing the new one till the tune is replaced. He only wants a mild tune that gives him a few more ponies and it must ALSO remain emissions compliant. My friend's wife drives a 2014 Denali that they've owned for about 4 years (with a mild tune AND emissions compliant) and never had an issue with it.
I just purchased my MVPI 2 last week and I'm NOT liking the experience. After experiencing other software issues with this tuning platform and support making me feel like I was robbed I'm also thinking that I made a huge mistake by NOT going with an EFI Live setup.
Supposedly when you link to an LML, the software provides you with a stock tune since the PCM is locked and can only write to it. Didn't happen..!
I have searched the internet and found a lot of stock files (matching my calibration and OS numbers) in EFI Live format but nothing in .hpt format.
Can someone help?
Thanks
