MPVI Pro datalogging Help

I have a MPVI1 Pro. I am trying to set it up for logging without the laptop. I know it CAN work as i've done it before a few years ago. For some reason I cannot get it to work now. I did just get the latest Beta version of VCM Scanner, but even running the older software it doesn't work. I've read up as much as I know how to but I don't know the lingo very well and my searches aren't showing anything.

Once I write config, I disconnect from the laptop. Power cycle the vehicle, then start up and drive. I press and hold Rec button and the light comes on. I press and hold Stop and the Busy light comes on then goes off. I plug the VI back into the laptop and click Get Info. At that point it shows 0% used and no logs. No idea what i'm doing wrong.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I had the MPVI 1 Pro and upgraded to the MPVI 2 Pro. They have a special upgrade price that won't last forever, and it was totally worth it for me as it converted my unused GM credits into universal credits and gave me all of the MPVI2 Pro stuff at the same price as a standard upgrade. The MPVI 2 Pro standalone datalogging is significantly better. I no longer have to schlep around the OBD2 cable, that mini-USB cable, a laptop, etc... as the MPVI2 module is the size of an OBDLink MX. The only time I use the USB-C cable is to upload my channels config, retrieve my logs, or use it to flash my tunes.

The standalone data logging feature of the MPVI Pro is only available for late model GM vehicles.
