    Needs some help reading log from my new 4XX stoker build

    New build, just starting, fourth tune mod to get it this far.

    Starts, idles, revs, but coming down just dies



    My Whipple didn't show up, so I was forced to reinstall the E-force until then.

    I have a few tunes from a couple bigCI big Whipple builds , ones a 441 with a 4.5l the other is a 454 with 4.5 both of those are trucks both 14s they should be close, the 463 with a Kenn Bell is a challenger.. eventfully we had to go Haltech with that one the OEM ECU couldn't deal with the 7500+RPMs and it would never idle ...... the only Eforce I've been involved with was 431 in a 12 challenger ,1st cam was close to yours 230/245 620/635 120 ,but had a TH400 behind it so no tranny stuff to worry about..I'll compare and see if I find anything

    So this is officially above my paygrade. I was able to fake my way through the other builds, but not this one.

    Need someone in the S. E. Florida area to sit behind the wheel and tune. Where the car sits is not close to where I live. I can't wait hrs or days for tune revisions.

    Maybe that I'm trying to tune NN and this combo is not having it. Most likely.


    It starts like I have 13.1 CR, idles for a while, then goes into surge, then stabilizes for a while, then goes into surge. Repeat and rinse.

    I'll include log from laptop. Not sure why log in last reply doesn't look like log on laptop.

    Fuelling looks a fair way off +-10% everywhere.
    Id personally go to VE and do away with NN at this point.
    When NN is on it uses lots of airflow model stuff we cant see. When you switch NN off the idle becomes much easier

    Turned NN off. Think tune is so butchered now nothing is going to fix it.

    Turn NN off, put injector data back to how the INJ manufacturer suggests and tweak the VE table to suit.

    Even do the above and upload new tune and log and we can help tweak

    OK. some short logs, couple long. it starts to die and sits there with a couple pops out TB then recovers.

    Fueling or Air flow??

    Wouldn't come up to idle 0050, just popping through TB. Shut it down.

    I did some changes to a another tune.

    Turned off exh cam phaser, made idle more stable.

    Turn A/C on it's stable, put in gear and it's like turning ign. off with a pop through TB.

    A little RPM and it will go into gear with a little surge and stabilize.

    Been all over airflow and fuel, idle torque stuff. I'm missing something and don't know what.

    Still waiting on tuner here to get back to me, he is busy.

    The fuelling is way off, you will just need to keep adjusting the VE table to dial it in

    Did you reset adaptives and do a throttle relearn after flashing the calibration in?

    Thanks. Yes on adaptives before each start. Didn't do a throttle relearn.

    Is there more that fueling I'm not seeing when it just dies going into gear? Idle torque throttle or timing.

    A little throttle power break and it will go into gear and not die.

    At least someone on YT was willing to share their knowledge, something I thought this forum was for.

    Was pointed to an area that I was over looking, after some tweaking no surging at idle or dying in and out of gear.

    Was able to get out on road for some VE logging and tuning.
