Ford Mustang GT 2007 Supercharger MAF tuning - lean WOT
HI,
I have a problem with car running lean at WOT. Wideband shows (not connected to MPVI) 14,7 at 2500-3500 rpm going to 12,7 at 5000 rpm and than going up to 14.0 at redline.
I have tried many different settings but can't make the engine run at desired lambda at WOT.
It has 41lb injectors.
No matter what MAF/voltage settings, no matter what fuel pressure it is running at load it goes lean.
What I have notice on the log (attached) is that MAF (g/s) goes from 634 to 0 and again up. MAF volts are rising normally.
I have attached current tune and log file.
I can change MAF scaling at 3.0V to 5.0V by +/- 20% and it doesn't do any difference.
Injectors PW is always aprox 12 ms at high load.
Not sure where I should look for the settings to change the fueling at high load?
Thanks
Plot your fuel pressure and make sure its doing what it is supposed to. You could have a fuel pump issue, this has to be right before moving forward.
Use these channels, try not to clutter it with a bunch of other stuff:
Engine RPM
Air Load
Throttle Desired Angle
Short Term Fuel Trim Bank 1 (SAE)
Short Term Fuel Trim Bank 2 (SAE)
ETC Throttle Angle Error
Engine Coolant Temp
Intake Air Temp
Throttle Angle
Timing Advance
MPVI2.1 -> Ballenger - AFR500
Accelerator Pedal Position
IPC Wheel Torque Error
ETC Torque Request
Long Term Fuel Trim Bank 1
Long Term Fuel Trim Bank 2
Calculated Manifold Absolute Pressure
Mass Airflow Sensor
Control Module Voltage
Engine Brake Torque
Absolute Load (SAE)
Throttle Position (SAE)
Run another log and post.
You need your Wideband input into the MVPI. You have no way to input what you are seeing into your logs.
Fuel pressure is spot on with the target. 264 kpa on idle rising to 384 kpa at high load. (it is logged channel)
Unfortunately I don't have a cable to connect wideband to MPVi but external LM2.
I did some test with +/- 25% on the MAF sensor scaling and it didn't change anything so it must be some other issue with the calibration.
Is it only MAF vs Voltage that changes fueling at high load or is there any other map that can be adjusted?
Plot LTFT+STFT (math) as a percent. In the column plot RPM, on the row axis plot TPS as a percent. Match these values to the charts for load with failed MAF in your tune. That is the main governor for transitional and high load fueling.
Your mass air meter should be LTFT+STFT (math) against mass air volts.
set max aircharge load to 1,5.
Im a little confused.
Your fuel trims shows your not in open loop.
Check your vacuum, maybe theres a leak.
Are the settings for your injectors OK?
What charger do you got?
i've seen something like this once that sounds like youre describing, after a lot of trial and error it turned out to be a torque error issue, i played around with the driver demand and maxed out some of the torque tables to get around it. the give away was that i logged throttle position and saw that when the car was going lean the throttle was closing down below the WOT threshold and going out of PE (even though the accelerator was buried to the floor). it's a long shot but maybe this is what's going on with your setup.
